5 Days/4-Nights Journey Through Water & Wilderness
Embark on the Okavango Odyssey, a safari that takes you deep into the heart of Africa’s last great wilderness. Four nights are spent in two camps, each nestled within game-rich private reserves—offering seclusion from the crowd while immersing you in the heart of the Okavango’s abundant wildlife. With a taste of both worlds, water and land safari, let your adventure unfold!
The 4-nights itinerary combines 2 nights at Setari Camp in the northern part of the Okavango with 2 nights at Sable Alley Camp in the eastern part of the Okavango.
Arrive in Maun, Botswana, where a representative will assist with your 35-minute helicopter flight to Setari Camp. Enjoy aerial views of the Delta and its wildlife below. Upon landing, meet your guide and transfer to camp, where a warm Botswana welcome awaits.
After refreshments and an introduction to the camp and activities, choose to relax or embark on your first adventure. In the late afternoon, head out on a scenic boat ride into the Delta, pausing for sundowners as the sun sets. Alternatively, take a 30-minute boat ride to Jao Island for a cultural tour. Return to camp, where a warm fire and delicious dinner await before settling in for your first night in the Okavango. Wake up early to your choice of hot drink, delivered to your room, followed by a light breakfast before starting your adventure.
During your stay you can choose from a variety of guided activities, tailored to your interests:
Island walk & boat ride – Explore the southern part of the concession on foot with an expert guide (walks are led by armed professionals for safety).
Catch-and-release fishing – Available to all guests, with equipment provided (can be arranged the night before).
Birdwatching excursion – Discover the rich birdlife of the Okavango.
Scenic helicopter flight (extra cost) – Gain an aerial perspective of the Delta.
On your second night, over dinner, details regarding your transfer to your next camp will be provided by your guide. After your morning activity, return to camp for brunch and relaxation before continuing your journey to your next camp.
Upon arrival at Sable Alley, settle into camp, surrounded by scenic floodplains, lush waterways, and shady riverine forests.
Enjoy lunch and an introduction to the area before setting off on an afternoon game drive. Wildlife is abundant, with frequent sightings of lions, leopards, elephants, and various antelope, including the striking sable. Pause for sundowners as the sun sets, then return to camp for a delicious dinner under the stars.
Start your second day with an early morning game drive, guided bush walk, or mokoro excursion (water levels permitting), tailored to your interests.
After the activity, enjoy brunch at camp before preparing for your departure.
Your flight time to Maun will be confirmed the day before, ensuring a smooth connection with your onward travel.
